The past year was a year of productivity, creativity and partnerships as Youville Centre endeavored to do what it does best in diabetes education and community health promotion.
Creative solutions to health problems led to implementation of new programs such as Craving Change™, PATHways and Nutrition on the Go. Partnerships were formed focused on specific client and community needs.
Two key words this year were collaboration and communication.
The Board Chair and Executive Director partnered closely with the Catholic Health Corporation of Manitoba (CHCM) in their new strategic directions, in particular the Compassion project, as well as their Accountability Framework Initiative. Youville Centre through generous funding by the Public Health Agency of Canada collaborated with Chronic Disease Educators Network to share information and resources regarding chronic disease and mental health.
Our updated and interactive website has been greatly appreciated by the community and clients, providing greater access to resources and information. LCD Televisions were introduced in reception areas providing new means for communicating health messaging.
2010 marks the end of a strategic planning cycle for Youville Centre. We have begun planning for 2011-2014 setting direction for the organization for the next three years.
Youville Centre has kept its spiritual purpose of providing compassionate primary health care and education informed by the evolving population needs. Good stewardship of resources and sustainability of programs were achieved. Faithful to our mission and values Youville Centre is constantly adapting as it strives for excellence.
