What to expect when you apply to become a Youville Centre Volunteer
Step 1 Applying
Applying to volunteer is much like applying for a job. We consider many things before applying volunteers at Youville Centre. The information from your application form will help us find the volunteer work that best fits you.
Step 2 The Interview
Once we receive your application, we will call you to arrange a date and time for an interview. The interview will help us learn more about you and your interests. You will also learn more about Youville Centre.
Step 3 Screening
After your interview, we will contact your references.
We screen all applicants before placement, Please provide the names of two (2) current references with correct phone numbers or email addresses.
Depending on the type of volunteer work you are interested in, a Criminal Records Check and Child Abuse Registry Check may also be required. You will be notified of any required checks.
Step 4 Placement
If there is a volunteer placement available, you will meet with Youville Centre staff to discuss the details of the volunteer work and decide on a start date.
Step 5 Orientation & Training
Before starting your placement, you will receive a general orientation to Youville Centre. You may also receive training needed for your volunteer position.
